Knitting Pattern for Squares

thanks to my Mom for helping me with this one!!

Using DK wool or equivalent yarn

with  4mm (no8) needles, cast on 60 stitches.  (guage 1 inch = 5 stitches)

Garter stitch throughout, knit rows until you reach 12 inches long. this is possibly 120 rows, taking in each turn of the needle, but I’m not an experienced knitter, so please keep going until you have long enough ie 12 inches or you can fold the knitting into a triangle and its the same length along both short edges.

This is a very basic pattern as you can see, but please feel free to use colour changes, or insert Purl rows to make stocking stitch.

60 stitches, many rows,  that’s it!

or design your own square and share your pattern here.

Love what your doing, you can put me down for a few squares not to far to come and watch the event I live in Shrewsbury. I might not have read things right but where do we send our squares to please.

Thanks Joanne, there wasnt anything on the blog posts about where to send them to as yet, as we may well have some “Collection days” around the area, including in the North of the county too. All to be organised, and will post here as soon as we have them sorted.

      Thanks again for taking part!
      Happy knitting!!
